Hi, I’m Laura

You deserve a home that feels calm, beautiful, and functional—a sanctuary, not a source of stress.

At The Sorted Nest, I help you reclaim your space so it works for your real life. Whether you’re navigating family chaos, preparing to downsize, or simply ready to fall back in love with your home, I’m here to make the process judgement-free with plenty of heart.

Your home should work for you. Let’s get sorted!

My Approach

Personalized

I listen closely and build trust. Then, I design systems that fit your lifestyle, habits and goals. We aim for personalized care over Pinterest-perfect outcomes (unless you want those of course!)

Judgement-free

I meet you where you are. Whether you’re overwhelmed, busy, or just don’t know where to start, you’ll never feel ashamed or behind. I’ll be your number one cheerleader.

Sustainable

I work with what you have, reuse whenever possible, and recommend thoughtful products with lasting function when needed.

Past Transformations

Why The Sorted Nest?

I bring a unique blend of experience, creativity, and compassion to every project:

Coach & Educator

With a background in teaching and leadership coaching, I know how to walk alongside you with clarity, care, and genuine encouragement. I'm here to help you move forward—step by step, without judgment.

Detail-Oriented

My years as an event planner trained me to notice the little things that make a big difference. I love spotting smart, simple tweaks that bring ease and flow into your everyday life.

A Lifelong Love of Organizing

I’ve been rearranging spaces since I was old enough to drag furniture around my room—and yes, I was once voted Most Likely to Be the Next Martha Stewart (true story!). Organizing has always been a source of joy for me, and I love sharing that spark with others.

Systems with Soul

I design organizing systems that don’t just work—they feel good, too. Thoughtful, sustainable, and tailored to you, so your home reflects who you are and supports how you live.

Compassionate & Real

I get it—life is busy and beautifully messy (especially with my two small kids in tow!). You don’t have to have it all together. I’m here to bring a little calm to the chaos, with kindness, humour, and a clear, doable plan.

Former Dancer

With over 20 years in dance, teaching, and choreography, rhythm and flow are part of who I am. Now, I choreograph spaces instead of stages—each one thoughtfully tailored to your life, so it moves beautifully and feels just right for your everyday rhythm.

“You don’t have to be perfect to be organized.”

FAQ

  • I'm the founder of The Sorted Nest, a home organization service focused on practical, personalized solutions for busy individuals and families. With a professional background in youth education, leadership coaching, and event planning, I bring a unique mix of strategy, creativity, and emotional intelligence to every project.

With over 20 years of dance training and teaching, I approach space the same way I approach movement—with intention, flow, and attention to detail. My mission is to help you create a home that’s not just organized, but peaceful, functional, and deeply livable.

Clients often tell me they appreciate my warm, down-to-earth approach. I truly believe your home should support your real life—not some unrealistic ideal of perfection.

When I’m not organizing, you can usually find me rearranging furniture just for fun, exploring cozy corners of Pinterest for inspiration, or spending time with my husband and our two kids.

  • Hiring a professional organizer isn’t just about getting things tidy—it’s about creating lasting change and getting the job done.

You’ll save time, money, and energy by working with someone who knows how to streamline the process, recommend durable products, and design systems that actually work for your life.

Instead of feeling overwhelmed or stuck, you’ll have expert guidance to keep the momentum going—so your project doesn’t stay half-finished.

With the right support, your home becomes more than just organized—it becomes a space that truly supports you.

  • 1. Connect
We’ll start with a complimentary 30-minute phone or video call to chat about your goals, challenges, and what’s currently feeling overwhelming. If it feels like a good fit, we’ll book your first in-home session during the call.

    2. First Session & In-Home Assessment (3 hours)
I’ll visit your space to get a clear understanding of your needs, style, and daily routines. I’ll take measurements, assess what’s working (and what’s not), and note any recommended products (product costs are separate from service fees). Together, we’ll create a personalized plan that fits your timeline, comfort level, and vision—whether you're looking for a quick refresh or a full transformation. If time permits, we’ll also begin some of the hands-on sorting work during this session, giving you a head start toward a calmer, more organized space.

    3. Let’s Start Sorting
We’ll begin hands-on organizing with intention—editing, sorting, donating, and letting go of what no longer serves you. A typical session lasts 3–4 hours and lays the foundation for systems that truly support your life. Everyone’s pace is different: some projects move quickly, while others take more time depending on your energy, availability, and comfort level. After we’ve worked together, I can continue with independent sessions (3–6 hours), keeping you in the loop with regular check-ins and updates. Prefer to keep working side by side? That’s great too! Either way, your space will start to feel lighter, calmer, and more functional.

    4. Savour the Results
Enjoy the peace of a space that supports your real life—organized, refreshed, and truly livable.
